Further update - EML started flashing so I went straight home, read the codes and I have rich running (understandable with a persistent misfire) and misfire on cyl 3 again, only this time the fault code for the misfire says "damaging cat" - hence the flashing EML instead of static.
So now I can't even drive the car until its sorted. :sad1:
