@CR55 - there are only 2 reasons for worn centres on rear tyres. 1, over inflation 2, constant standing start hard acceleration. There won't be a kwik fit in the country that can sort central wear out via geometry. It's a driver fix 

Tyre choices all comes back to personal preference and informed/or not choice. These are the things that attach your pride and joy to the road and hopefully keep you and your family/passengers safe.

My 4.6is came on Kumho's - never had them before but have had Falkens and Michelins and Pirellis and Dunlops on RWD BMW's over the years.

I noticed the difference only in snow on the RWD cars which performed well on Dunlops but not Falkens. On the 4WD X5 in the snow the Kumho's were brilliant, but I would expect that from a 4WD 4x4 anyway. Normal driving the Kumho's are very good. Safety concerns - I have none. Would a premium brand be better on wet track - yes, of course but I will never find myself there so for a 4WD 4x4 on the 'road', I can't say that I would happily pay double for a premium tyre.

I would however get a GOOD set of part worns (5mm + all over) in premium before buying new budget. If you know what you are looking for and inspect in person before purchase this works out well. I do low miles so tyres always last me absolutely ages.

Took it for its first motorway spin today. Reached some interesting speeds. Tyres didn't miss a beat. Didn't notice any real difference in braking distance either.

Real test will be in the wet but so far, so good.

Which Kumhos are you guys actually talking about?  Just stating the make of a tyre and not the actual model is like stating you drive a BMW, technically correct but not quite enough info to be interesting

I'm not having a pop, just trying to decide which 275/40/20s to put on the front of mine.
