Congratulations Scorpio, I too am about to place my order for and X5, spec similar to yours, but am opting for:

612 BMW Assist
616 BMW Assist online portal
633 Enhanced Bluetooth telephone functionality
with telematics
6FL USB audio interface
Sport suspension
Towing capacity, increased
Towbar, detachable
20" M Double-spoke style 333M alloy wheels Reversing Assist camera with Top View
Roof rails, High-gloss Shadowline
Ext. mirrors - folding, auto dimming
Comfort seats, front
Lumbar support, driver and front pass.
Seat heating, front

Voice Control
Adaptive headlights,
High beam assist

Reading some of the comments about the voice control is making think I might delete it. The wife’s SLK has the Mercedes Linguatronic version, but apart from answering the phone on it, we don’t use it.

Btw carbon black is a much nicer colour.

Agreed.

Nice spec on both the above cars  8) Was voice control not included in the Media Pack at some stage?

What about a HUD, or did I miss that in the list?

Very useful.

Expensive gimmick.

More suited to a m car

When I had the m6 for a week I just found it irritating and marginally dangerous.

Sorry, that's total tripe.
HUD is amazingly useful and intuitive. I really miss it on the X6.

You probably found it dangerous as its impossible to look at the HUD while you're admiring yourself in the vanity mirrors at the same time.

Why what does it do that the screen/display doesn't?

Nothing.

Why didn't you order it then, too expensive?

I don't need to look in the mirrors, I know I'm attractive!

I wouldn't have spent the best part of a grand on the HUD if ordering from new, that is until now.  Having some 7k under the right boot, the HUD is a lot more than a gimmick. It is useful, informative and an aid to safer driving.  It also makes staying at or with in a reasonable margin of the speed limit easier.
