Chompers, at first i thought it was going to be a big let down going from the M5 to the X5 and at first i think i was a little disappointed but after a few days of driving the big old girl i actually now prefer it, it doesn't have the raw grunt that the m5 had but it offers other things that the m5 couldn't, round town driving is now a pleasure with the smooth and comfortable ride instead of the aggressive and sometimes dangerous rawness of the m5. I only lose +/-1.3 seconds on the 0-62 time and that really doesn't bother me anyway as i now have the luxury of smooth evenly delivered torque. To be fair i really don't think i would still have a license if i stall had the m5 haha

Raj, I have the Prins system fitted, not sure of the exact model but it is a really good system (so far) the change from petrol to lpg is seamless and you wouldn't even notice it unless you were looking at the gauge and as stated previously i really don't notice any drop in power when on lpg either. On Monday this week i drove to Aberdeen and tried messing around with the gas and petrol systems, whilst on petrol i reset the MID  and this gave me a mpg of 22.4mpg (Cruise control set at 70mph) and when i switched on to lpg i reset the consumption 2 on the MID and this actually gave 22.9mpg, not too sure that this is a true reflection but to be fair i am not really that anal about mpg (hence the 4.8is). I called a local installer today to get a quote for servicing the lpg system and he has quoted 65 of the queens finest pounds to change all the filters and give the system a full service including pressure testing the entire system and checking the system for leaks so all in all not a bad price really.

Rusty it is indeed a carbon black X and i must admit i love the colour it gives off, in normal day light it is blacker than black but in brilliant sunlight or under electric lighting it is a very deep blue colour. When i went to the show room to see it i actually walked straight past it as it looked blue and I was looking for a black one. When the salesman came across i asked if he had sold the black one and he must have thought we have a right plonker here  ;)

Really appreciate the info on the LPG. It is the Prins VSI system I'm looking at and been quoted less than the £2k+vat normal price. Glad I've found someone with the same 4.8 and same system as I can be more rest assured now.

I totally agree about the move from the E60 M5 to the 4.8is. I agree that the M5 is just a licence loser as you just don't ever feel you can drive it sensibly.

As for Carbon Black, it is a truly stunning colour. I loved my E60 530d in CB.

Get your name down for the RAF Cosford meet on 27th April buddy.
