I am a member (partner ) of my firm
Our senior partner loves to be referred to as the biggest member
Gets a bit boring having to explain to everybody what a member is though!

Exactly - polish the area afterwards and job done. Want photos? Can take some as I go along.
You just need to be careful when taking them off - when you pull on one corner of the lettering the other end could dig inwards towards the paintwork (as it's foam backed). The floss is a great idea with a hairdryer to get the glue soft.

Yes this is correct. My other technique involves almost boiling water from a kettle instead of the hairdryer, did it this way when I lived on the third floor of an apartment block and there weren't any outdoor power sockets

Pour the hot water over the badge, the heat has the same effect as the hairdryer. Then dental floss to 'cut' through the foam adhesive. With any luck you can actually peel quite a lot of the foam adhesive off without rubbing.
Then as others have said polish / wax the area when you're done.

Did exactly that yesterday but without the boiling(ish) water. Used string, cut through in seconds and then panel wipe to loosen the gluey foam. Then polish.
