Time is the issue for most...... I find it preferable to spend 10 mins every day or so rather than perform a mammoth regime once a week only for car to look progressively dirtier until next session.

Each to their own of course

I couldn't just spend 10 minutes though and that's the problem...lol

Used to be twice a week but now down to once (if I'm lucky).

My routine is bilberry and alloys first inside/out, then snowfoam and allow to work for about 5 mins, then it's onto 2 bucket method using Megs gold and Megs wash mitt. Finally either DI it and let it dry off itself otherwise use microfibres and my wooly mammoth.

Does take an hour or so if drying it off too.

You guys are highlighting just how lazy I am!  Washed, well from time to time but usually every few weeks......or sometimes longer!  :'(  Power hose it wet, then add some sort of cleaning fluid to soap the car up, followed by brushing and then rinse off with power hose and if and it's a big if, I'm feeling unlazylike I'll dry it off with a shammy.

I did wax the car last week, but really need to de-tar the car so if its really lucky, I'll be washing it, de-tarring it and waxing it in the next month or so.  8)

Don - Your car of course but I will dare suggest that using a brush might not be kindest thing to do  ;)

Raj - We probably spend similar time per week washing (if both cars used daily). I used to spend around an hour washing & drying but it soon returned to dirty until next wash...I tried to wash it like that every day or so but not realistic to do so, hence my current routine with aim for car to look 90% for 90% of the time...............Even boring myself now (no need to humour me by way of response)  :-[

Lez- Did you find your knob (after I showed you a picture to help)  ?  ;)

Hi there, somehow missed your post and yes the rotary knob is there.(I was wondering if I had bought a "pup".)
As I posted, I paid £99 for it, what is the usual price, as a matter of interest?

Many thanks,
Lez

Tbh I could happily do the same as yourself but I just hate swirls (although its not as though we get enough sunlight to show them up...lol). I did, on my CB 530d wash that every couple of days but again just had to use the same routine (so an hour'ish) each time.

I bought it sometime ago, it has sat there giving me the ''evil eye'' ,so I thought I would have to give it a go.
It will have to wait awhile though, as the wife wants her dash cam fitted , heated seat retrofit, reverse warning sensors. Before I am allowed to play.

I bought it from Clean your car, and the price they are doing it for now is good, brilliant company to deal with, I get all my cleaning stuff from there.

PS made a bit of a balls up on the £99, it was without vat, full price was £119.95, so the current price is even cheaper than I paid. the reviews look great.

Regards,
Lez

SWMBO complains that car washing takes me too long. "They are only cars, who cares if they aren't clean?"

I care, that's who.

I tend to jet wash the worst off, snow foam, dwell period whilst having a cuppa and sorting the 2 buckets, jet wash off foam, wash using 2bm, jet wash off, wipe down door jams etc and clean wheels inside and out, then final rinse using DI, pat dry using MF monster towel.  Dress tyres and black trim.

A reasonable basic wash is an hour, more indepth wash and with vacuuming takes upto 2 hours, throw in a bit of sealing/waxing and it's half a day easily.

Does anyone else use rainX on the glass - works a treat.

Not sure why she complains so muh, she only has to make the tea..... But she does love going around in a clean and swirl free motor though.....
