Welcome Pope - good to see that you've got some decent motors to hoon around in at the end of the month when you retire. or O:-) ?
I've often fancied the idea of a 2nd hand 635d - they've quite a few examples at bigmotoringworld.co.uk - a lot of car for the money and I like the idea of a fast economical cruiser that the kids can comfortably sit in.

Cheers for that

I've had the 6 for two years now and I love it.
Had it remapped to 330hp & shit loads of torque. >:D

6'er needs lowering though as the gap is bigger than on my X5.....

Hi and

(again) Pope. I had a 630i for a year a little while back and really enjoyed the car, found it great for chilling.

I tried a 630i and thought it was good, until I drove the 635d. 35mpg and all that instant thrusting torque

did it for me.

I've always been a fan of larger diesels but in this case, the funds wouldn't stretch to the 635d at the time. The six was purchased as a weekend car and when we first started looking the budget was £10k, but before long it was over £20k, so had to stop pushing the budget! ::)
Congratulations on a good looking motor. Lots of fun ahead.

I opted on economy over performance with the current map.
But it's the extra torque that's rips it. At 635nm torque, that's more than 100nm more than a M5/M6
Trouble is with that much torque at such low revs, I find it very difficult to launch it off the lights without monster wheel spin.

Blimey... though at least that power/torque is divided by 4, so thats er..187.5nm per wheel.
As opposed to 317.5nm per wheel on my 635... :'(
