Hmm talks of 'giving up' and 'feeling a knob' when all the time he has an Audi sitting on his drive. People and glasshouses? Lmaooooooo ;-)

Ha ha

As you know I know a lot of Porsche owners (mainly 997 RSs but run of the mill C4Ss) and none I them particularly like being seen in them because they smack of city boy cock. They have bought them for their engineering not to look good in.

Too many people buy a Porsche to be seen in which I hate with a vengeance

Like my neighbour (entry level Cayenne).

What's worse is they call them a Porsh and not a Porsha.  Noobs.

(ps.  believe it or not my youngest daughter is named Porsche as I am a bit of a car nut - oops).
(pps.  but at least I know how to pronounce it properly)

I don't even bother to pronounce it properly because I think everybody would think I was wrong

You wife/partner most love you to agree to that. Not as a criticism just being such an obvious link to a car

Apologies.........As highlighted I was way off on the 997 Turbo S prices albeit I have seen same on PH staring circa 40k. Me bad for checking price on a car in 997 section on PH - sicne checked & found to be a  996 Turbo S.

Sure some 911's can look a bit tacky but same goes for other brands/marques if in poor taste spec/colour/trim......I personally wouldnt buy a white one with gloss black rims, dog knob red interior, tacky exhaust & fluorescent calipers- but each to their own I guess.

I guess the 996 Turbo S you looked at on pistonheads is mine, looking to move it on as I just don't use it enough plus I'm helping my son buy his first property.  Its an awesome car though and never ceases to put a smile on my face and yes its a Porscha ;)

Ash way, don't suppose it's  drop top?

Anyway, back to the thread, Porsche is really he place to be but with my budget I don't move up the ladder enough to warrant the change, suppose I'm 10k short to do that.
Tad surprised no one is shouting the M3 corner as can get fairly newish drop for the money I am???
Anyone want to give a true owners report on this or 6 series, happy going more GT than sports.....

I had a 2005 3.0i 6 series from October 09- November 10.  Only covered 4k in that Time as it was a weekend car.  I loved it.  Now it wasn't the sort of car to expect to hustle around country lanes, but on the open A roads or motorways it was a fantastic mile cruncher.  It was able to return 29 mpg so very pleased with that, and although it was a convertible there was loads of room in the back, even for adults although maybe not for extra long journeys.  You could certainly do a lot worse, but take your time looking around to get a good one if you chose this route.

Completely ignoring the wish list, I'd suggest a BMW 2002.  Coolest car ever.

That's why I was surprised no one in M3, it may just be possible to pick up new on the 0% finance deal they have at the moment.  Need top buck on the 996 trade in though....so never gonna happen!
Still thinking xk.......mmmm :'(
