Still better in lower temps and wet conditions - although not essential.

I know but I've managed so far in my 20 years of driving

Just drive to the conditions.

I just took the lotus out and because it is cool down here and the track orientated tyres couldn't quite warm it was under steering like buggery!

Because I was pushing it on purpose to see where the limits were

It was about 9 degrees
