Not interior I know, but for those who weren't around a year ago, this Karscher gadget will be useful for clearing the salt from underneath the car.  It has a whirling spray nozzle that wheels under the car and washes all the rubbish off and then a 'preservative' spray that goes on afterwards.

I vacuum inside whenever it's dirty, wether it is weekly or daily depends on what is happening and what mess the kids make, but then I don't use the car every day, I have the E46 for that.

I then tend to wipe the surfaces with just a damp microfibre, treat the leather if necessary and use an APC on anything which needs a little more. 

Sanj, remember to clean under the covering flap on the tailgate
