So I received my scanner today and went to have a play around with it but every time I try to run it I get multiple 'Privileged Instruction Error' pop-ups.
I'm running it on a Vista laptop - anyone know what I'm doing wrong & how I can sort it?

Tried the right-click 'Run As' Administrator option?

Thanks Sanj, sorted it after a google search. Had to delete a setting in the registry.

sorry everyone, another scanner question
I've been able to scan for errors and clear a bunch of them successfully but can't seem to access any sub menus to change settings, reset service indicators etc.
I've googled and it appears that I need to solder pins 7 & 8 of the scanner - does anyone know if this is correct?
any help appreciated

Evening all, Just a quick (maybe silly) question on the scanner 1.4.0, the versions i am looking at on the bay say ""Unlocked" functions to show possibilities of full version" does this mean it is just a trial or limited version? is the full version available to buy anywhere? Sorry for hijacking the thread.

$650 "THUD" that was the sound of my arse hitting the deck, I think the 25 quid option off the bay will be the one i am prepared to make do with

Lol the £25 option is fine. I've used mine to clear fault codes, diagnose, change settings and reset service indicators.

I have BMWScan 1.4 but can someone give me an ideas as to what other software can do ( e.g INPA ) that I can't do with BMWScan ?
