My missus took my car to work the other day. Told her if she put a mark on it to post the keys and 'go away'

It must be bad for most of our better halves - the fact we use a forum like this shows that these are more than just a car to us.

Hopefully wont cost too much but feel your pain.

Had a Supra many years ago and the day I got it she opened the passenger door into a concrete post :o

Ok so this is important..... for all mankind.

She's well - that's most important but now we must play them at their own game. MILK IT!!!!!

I'll give you a month - expect you to have a new plasma, Apple gadget and at least two passes to the next Meets!

All joking aside, only plastic, fixable and we can help for a lot less than the $tealers.  :)

You are right Sanj, they don't come on automatically unless you reverse....

She was really upset but as I said to her, if that's the worst thing that ever happens then we'll take it straight away. It's only metal (of the plastic variety) after all and we are all safe and well.

Exactly my thoughts, nothing that can be fixed, it's just bloody annoying.

My old Touareg used to engage the sensors below something like 10 mph.  Occasionally it was annoying but I certainly preferred it to having to manually turn on if not reversing.  You wouldn't want the graphic or top view to kick-in but at least a beep would tell you your close!

Well spotted.

This was my old M5 after a chat with a fox at xxx-mph on the M54:

Image

Cost me £1k to fix myself but that was secondhand bumper (resprayed too) with grilles and brake duct, new wheel arch liner, washer bottle, sensor, brackets and under trays.

Shads sourced a bumper, just need a wing and fee other bits and a bit of diy'ing.

Always happy to help if needed.
