you can specify which coach you 'need' to go in when booking and a very good excuse for the x5/x6 is the width of the car...and if out of season you normally get on quicker...
tbh i booked the normal train both ways but on the way back just drove into the 'truck' lane and nothing was said...

Yes I'd specified roof box when booking the journey there and back - think I'd do the same again even without to save injuries to the car ! There was an old renault clio (no roof box) in my queue for the return journey who was allowed on ...
