Get it over to Sanj's. He's got a few 'friends' now who will help polish it out and make it nice and shiny.....let's face it they've had some practice and daren't get it wrong

Exhaust tips will be all metal but the rolled edge is just very thin. Certainly looks like the chrome is just peeling away a touch. Definitely just get it replaced.

Maybe all of PVR's racing starts have blown the chrome off

My 30D was like this from new, drivers side worse than passengers.
Thought about raising an issue with it, but bought some metal polish from halfrauds for £6 and give them a wee clean every 6-8 weeks or so, works for me.

Well if it was missing at date of purchase/handover, then they failed to supply the car as ordered

breach of contract.
If your seat leather or carpet or paint was missing at the edge would they try the same argument?
You bought a new car, to be supplied defect free and with no missing or deformed materials. Replace defective part fixes issue, can't understand why they are fighting you on issue ???

They have ordered it now, but only after I "proved" that the 40d M Sport had them standard and they were not an after fit.
The chrome was there in the beginning, just worn off for some reason.

Well that exhaust shape is shown on the BMW site as being standard on the 30D, 40D etc.
WTF are they talking about?

Dealer talk.
Not customer friendly either when you get the whistling through the teeth, and the "they all do that sir" type responses. Then asking if I fitted them as an aftermarket item as they don't show as standard on their system and they could not warrant those etc.
I despair of them sometimes ...
They have ordered them now, but why do you have to have the battle first.

Some Dealers have parts databases that are months out of date simply because no one has loaded the new DVDs. It doesn't exactly inspire confidence though..... >:(

Latest is that they have not ordered them yet as BMW wants more evidence.
It appears that the entire back boxes need replacing ...
