Agree 100%, my manuals still in the glovebox. Found it more interesting to push buttons, flick switches or push and pull things while driving along! :-[. The wife wasn't so happy at this form of self education.
I have turned the night function off on the sat nav, but still mostly grey scale. I'll post a pic later to let those that know see, see! :'(

The grey maps, untick the Traffic Situation/Grey map and see if that works.

I actually dont mind the cruise control. Works well with the HUD and I quite like being able to increase the speed in 5mph increments......good when getting away from tolls.......get it above 30mph and
keep taping till you get to the desired speed....all very lazy really
[/quote]
Just push the lever forward and hold it there and it will accelerate much quicker than using the 5mph tap.
Just be careful if you pull it back to reduce the speed . . . . .

Especially if you pull it all the way back.....

Loving this feature. Tried it out tonight. And as for the reduction in speed when pulling back...wowzurr .

Are you saying it brakes v hard if you reduce speed via the cruise control? I find the active cruise control brakes relatively gently if it picks up a sudden drop in speed ahead - reacts far quicker than a person could but leaves it to you to really stamp on the brakes. I figured it probably brakes via the electronic handbrake.

If you pull it back past the stop then it will brake keeping up with the displayed speed and not gradually like with the 5mph flick.

The electronic handbrake is only used when stationary the cruise control uses the main disc brakes very effectively. :drive

Yes the braking is impressive when pulling back and holding on to the cruise control stalk. Ok we're not talking eye popping fast but still worth experiencing. The braking has to be through main braking system. Too fast, strong and progressive to be the handbrake.

Very interesting ... I'll take a look next time on motorway, and no traffic around to be interfered with. Could be a long wait.

yeah, I was on an empty road around 1:30 this morning when I tried it out. Very advisable to get a clear road while testing this function. Noticed that the brake light came on. Just as well, could be very unnerving to anyone behind otherwise.
