We make our Remaps in house
We will only use the file from your car that is read out and make our adjustments to that file
Thats why we ask you to email me the read from your car after you have read your cars Ecu with our Bw Flasher/ Bw xconsole
This way every mod file we make will work as the adjustments are for your car only
We do the same for all our dealers around the uk and aboard
Each and every BMW file is different

We redo many remapped cars that have be tuned by other tuners including some of the well know and said to be the best tuners where there customers are not happy with the remap
We have found many times that the tuner has just used a file from another car with the same hardware and software which is generic
As we have all the dealer tools we have  re uploaded the same software to the car and then compared only to find the remap that was on the car to start with was totally different

Here a example
Had a 330d which had problems with power on and off and bad mpg
It was not smooth at all and lacked torque
after studying the file I found that it was a part flash remap which was made for a x5 3.0d then used on this car
he paid over £450 for this remap and had taken the car back many times and just got told it was a problem with his car that's why he brought it to me for a diagnostics

That was over a year ago now

But since then have had 3 other customers which have had the same car same problems with the same company as the 1st customer
And when I've up loaded the read in to my data base it has been 100% the same as the 1st car I had in

I used to pay www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/index2.html(regarded as one of, if not, THE top mapper in the UK for Imprezas £350 for a live mapping session with two switchable maps on it.[/quote]

Tweenie Rob was also excellent at Tuning Impreza's / Skylines before he passed away. RIP.

Seems sensible - but doesn't that then mean that we don't get any factory improvements in the map? For example, if I send you the factory map from my early 05 X5 3.0d then you alter that and send it back to me. However, BMW may have released a different map with their own improvements/fixes later in the build life (in 06 X5s for example). I don't get those though as "my" remap is based on the earlier release.

Your map will be made from what is on your car that way it is always correct

There are tuners out there that say they update the map to the newest for your car this is bull same as on new cars BMW can't see it's tuned

They say this just to get you in the door
And take your money

The only way you can have the software updated to the latest version is to go to someone who pays to have the latest updates from day to day like our selfs who use autologic
We have 2 of them

If the engine Ecu is up dated then it will be best to do the gear box Ecu as well as they go hand in Hand

Hi jason. How do I go about getting remap? 05 3.0d. Do you change your map much from time to time? Was it done from engine dyno or live road mapping with lambda?

Hi jason. How do I go about getting remap? 05 3.0d. Do you change your map much from time to time? Was it done from engine dyno or live road mapping with lambda?

You have the option to come to me or go to one of my dealers or I can send you our Xconsole Bw Flasher unit for you to use keep or send back
You can call me on 02085611818 or 07831103030 to book in

Pdtuning in Newcastle has a 4x4 dyno dynamics rolling road and have tested all our mods I have made on there dyno

If you come to me you or one of my BMW Indy dealers you have the option to update your cars software using dealer tools before we remap your car

All our Remaps are custom made to your cars software we read from your car
All our dealer tools are encoded to the car we make the tuned file for so a file from a different car car not be reused again unlike other tuning companies dealers that can reuse there file for generic tuning

If you tell me what you are looking for in your remap I will adjust the mapping to suit

We do not and will not use generic tuning where tuners have a proven tuned file that they use again and again not matter what software is on your car is this is not the right way to tune cars and a lazy way tuning
We have seen this many times with problem or poorly tuned cars and have had to flash over the complete Ecu with the dear tool so we could put the software back to standard so we could remap the car correctly

As for the price this was what we arranged with the forum owners many years ago that members got the best discount we could offer and we have kept to that promise

This was arranged here on the old x5drivers forum and on baby BMW by the owner many many years ago

we give a 100% all the time in our work

We do more that most of the bigger companies which charge alot more some times twice the price or more we do for forum members

As for jap car petrol tuning
This cars work on max spark advance
To tune these cars parts will need to be  changed then the car needs to be adjusted to how the car reacts to the new parts fitted live

As most of you know I go to Asia to you german cars as the tuners out there tune them wrong from what I've seen as they are used to the way how they tune gap cars

ok thanks, ll be in touch. Id quite like mid range torque combined with economy! maybe not possible but as you know you dont really have to rev the 3.0d.

jap tunes are so advanced on their ign maps when tuned as they have better fuel. imprezzas std internals might as well be chocolate! I melt the ring lands on mine very easily but after a rebulid with forged internals i got some good power. I could never get to the bottom of 550 injectors being at nearly 98% duty with only 1.2 bar but those days are gone! heat soak with a top mount intercooler was a big problem at those levels too.

How much does gearbox remap cost? mine seems to hold gears to long sometimes esp down hill....

Does the same map apply to my manual 3.0D? I imagine you don't do so many of those!

What sort of Gearbox parameters can be changed?

One gripe I have with the X5 over my old 320d auto (E90) is that even on a light throttle it likes to keep the revs over 2000 most of the time. I understand that max torque is produced at about 2000rpm, however sometimes when just cruising along at say 40mph I don't want it in 4th gear, and I have to manually stick it in 5th or 6th. Can this be changed? If I want higher revs I can always use Sport mode, which I did in my  320d, but there seems little point in the X5... infact, on overtaking it sometimes holds on to the gears into the redline, and you can feel the power drop off.

What year is your car
I take it's a 3.0d as these had the problem and had bad mpg as well
The software update was to fix the high revving due the the gear box not changing up

Its a Nov 2005 build 3.0d. My dad had it from new, and at 40'isk k miles it had new Gearbox fluid to fix a strange chirp noise on certain gear changes (never happened again, now at 100k).

I tend to get 32-36mpg on longer runs, but I get irritated that it doesn't use the low down torque when i'm just pottering about like my old 320d did. overall MPG is about 27 which includes quite a bit of local driving, the odd towing duties so its not too bad.

If it hasn't had the software up date it will hold onto gears
