My understanding is that the only benefit of the cradle is that's the only way to access the car's arial?  My dealership recommended I don't bother as most phones' reception is good anyway plus my phone (4s) is in a cover so would have to remove it each time ...

I had a 3GS before getting the five and was informed by Apple that it didn't have an external arial so won't benifit from being placed in the cradle.  Not sure about the five.  If there's no external arial again then no point buying yet another cradle.

I only ever use mine if the battery is really low as almost without fail I forget to take it out when I get out. Earlier this year I had to make a dash back to Heathrows T4 car park at the last minute which didn't go down well with the rest of the family!

You as well  :))

I never leave the phone in the car (well, not more than 8 out of 10 times  :-[)

For an E70 - yes, but not for an E53 which is what you have though?
[/quote]
Yep, got the Facelift E53. Shame thye don't do a cable that would plug in where the Cradle would go, then plug into phone. Too simples me thinks  :(

And we won't annoy the restaurant owner for staying so late while AW8 finishes his story!

Which is always annoying for Mogs as he has to get home to stick one in the oven!

:))

All points duly noted albeit with some convenient omissions when referring to a certain past night out...........

535dboy actually had lots to say on back of an enjoyable lunchtime.

Mogsy, in (familiar but always amusing) "motor mouth mode" nearly got us kicked out before we ordered.

As for pvr well...................I can't remember  - Was he actually there ?

Bringing this topic back to phones - The Nokia 3510 pic is like pvr - old & in retirement.

Will check diary but suggest seperate thread - Goodnight Gents  ;) :)
