My first post but been lurking on here since I got my E70 back in July.
I've gone for exactly the same set up as Davy, 150 mile round trip to Leeds today and impressed with handling comfort and road noise.
I'm running the 19" SE alloys on my MSport which normally runs 20". Have Vredestein tyres, 255x50x19 front and 285x45x19 rear. They do look a little inboard on the rear but keeping to 19s looks decent, 18s on an E70 are just tiny.

+ 1 for the Vredestein Wintrac Extremes. I have them on 18s on my E53. Brilliant tyre. Happy at 120 on the autobahn and very grippy an hour later on packed snow. Also wearing well.

I was lucky as amacman pointed me to a UK auction for SE wheels which were not described as for the X5 (which they were).
Got them for the opening bid, so total setup with new Vredestein tyres was less than £600 from memory.

The dealer I'm getting the new car from has an almost new set so going to twist his arm in he morning to see if I can get them cheap.
