yeh dont let it put you off, i work on the theory that any secondhand car is going to need maintainance, servicing and general looking after, i like my cars to drive spot on so my brother says im ocd! then i drive thing he has and they knock and bany etc where im the opposit and tend to pre do things etc

Here's my 2p worth.

Any car you buy can be frought with problems and that can be from the obvious £200 banger to a £200k supercar. Any secondhand car will require some maintenance of some sort and you need to factor the costs in. You are talking about a ten year old motor with 80k miles on the clock but don't be put off totally by what you have read as you need to use the info to help find a decent one in the first place. The thing is you only ever read or hear of the scare stories of major issues, etc. It's useful to have the info to make you aware of possible issues that can occur but don't let it lead you to the thought that they all are bad or will fail.
