It could be on any of four boats - BMW won't tell me or the Dealer when it left the US, only that it has left the factory. Checking the shipping schedules (sad I know, but), the earliest for Bremerhaven is 27th Oct leading to the earliest into Soton is the 1st Nov, after which it's down to BMW GB and the Dealer to deliver and prepare it. The optimist in me says another two weeks or so, the pessimist just over three.

I can't even get a UK manual for it. But have got key fob covers and rear screen sunblind plus clear anti-scratch cover for the rear bumper - all BMW OEM parts.

Exciting stuff X5Sport. The pessimist in you may well be proved right  after coming of the ferry transporter at Southampton your 'X' will then head up to BMW at Thorne to have transit protection wrapping removed. It will then be deliver to your dealer from Thorne. Dealer will then carry out the PDI, valet  and register your car using AFRL. Try and get the reg no. from sales admin at the dealer asap, you may even be able to get this prior to the 'X' reaching the dealer. You then need to get the insurance cover note/certificate to the dealer asap so as not to slow the process up. All this will take a good 2-3 weeks from landing and thats if the dealer tells you the exact day it lands :x

I am sure it will be well worth waiting for :driving:

On the case....................insurance being sorted. Dealer will use their system plus AFRL Web initially then I'll take the cert over once we have a date/time.

I have the Reg as it's a personal one...

It shouldn't take sooooooooooooooooo long............. :tumbleweed: :headbang: :headbang: :driving:

Oooohh yes please :D Huh hermmmm, I mean that would be most kind of you. Your generosity in helping a fellow member is above and beyond (Ed-now don't over do it!)

As long as its not the US one?

I've been trying to get info on the Combox and other options (8TL & 8TN) that started to be fitted from Week 40, but with no success. Even the Dealer couldn't get me a 2011 UK spec PDF manual - so I'm trebly impressed!

PM me if it's easiest. Got a 60GB monthly limit :P. Don't think email size is linited, but I'm sure 20MB would not upset it! The USA manual is about 9MB.

Combox 6VC sounds a great bit of kit, going by what is being posted around the net, iPod album art work and bluetooth connectivety to name a few. I'm putting money on that 8TL will just be that the DRL's automatically come on as these cars should be 2011 models an dthis is required in the EU, this can also be selected in the iDrive menu on current cars. Probably not LED corna rings that has been mention all over the place. As for 8TN no idea, but I guess all will become clear over the next few weeks.
