Cool, thanks - I've literally opened the bonnet once when I checked the car over to buy it... and have not seen the car much as its been in for repairs. I'll have a nose around the webasto when I get home from work tonight.

I'll keep a log here of my chosen method to get the webasto working on remote.

Poke a sewing needle down the side of pin 1 and connect to that for a decent connection

Ok, got home from work and tried it.
Did not do anything.
Although, car was fully warmed up as I had just taken it for a drive from the station to home.
Do I need to wait till its cold?
What about ambient temperature?
Or should it just fire up at pin 1 regardless of ambient or engine temp?

here are some pics of my heater below. I took them as I thought i may be possible that it has the webasto receiver already installed, and perhaps I never received the remote with the car. If thats the case, how would I identify it? These are photos of all the plugs and wiring coming out from the unit that I can see:

Right. Went outside now to test it again. It works! Used the sewing needle.... I obviously didn't make a proper connection last time. Also upon reading aanother thread on here i now see the webasto receiver gets installed in the boot... So ignore my pics.. They won't tell if i have the webasto receiver installed. I will open her up on the weekend to get a proper look.
