My second car- Ford Fiesta XR2 in rosso red- the MK II shape. Looked really quick but wasn't- even with me raising the CR, porting the head and fiting Twin Webbers with a free flow filter and straight through exhaust. Also had 15" alloys on it- tyres for which at the time were ridiculously priced. The good old days!

My old 1989 Renault  5 GT Turbo comes close  &  1990 H Reg 205 1.9 GTI were great cars.    I know it doesn't necessarily mean the most enjoyable car ever owned must be the most expensive, but it is!  The most enjoybale  car I've ever had is a 997 C2S.  Chassis, drive etc... blistering performance.

Always loved the E36 M3 Evo 4 door I had. Would just purr about town and be a hoot when out and on the open road. You could sit in 4th and go from 40 ish upto 120 before going up into 5th.
It was debadged, so most thought it was just a 328 with a body kit on it  ;)

Had a couple of Z3 MCoupes - an early 1998 'S' reg S50, followed by one of the last ones, a 2002 S54.  The S54 is the only car I miss, though I really liked my 'G' reg Renault 5 GT Turbo back in the day.

Until last year, the answer would undoubtedly be my MK1 Focus RS. It is a real drivers car, and I love giving it some welly, especially non twisty roads

However, I would now say that I enjoy driving my X6 more. I know it sounds sad, but I think it is awesome.

Regards

Mark

A few off us actually sat down the other night and made a list of cars we've owned since passing our test, my list was 40 cars, ranging from a Morris marina through to probably my favourite, a noble M12 GTO-3R fastest thing, apart from a 1100cc bike, that I've ever driven.

My bike was a Honda Fireblade 2001 RRY quick and handled.

But for laughs a Gilera Runner 180 two stroke well quick and scary at 90 on a private road used for work

Now selling the last one Yamaha Rd350 lc.

What is that, apart from a Morris something that's still made back East?  Probably a damn site more reliable too!!

Cross-Ply tyres? :drive:

Tbh I've loved all my motors for so many different reasons.

But I guess 2 really stand out in my car history.

1st would have to the E60 M5. Stunning and yet understated, comfortable too and a true wolf in sheeps clothing.

2nd would have to be my Corrado 2.0 16v. Superb out the box but with all the mods I did it was a stunning bit of kit. Still quite a rare site too.

i think i've had all crappy cars  :'(

damn!! must do something about that!!  no wonder i like this E53 so much!

in terms of diy pleasure and reliability the land cruiser comes to my mind. where mrs once pumped petrol, ran it till it stopped called me in scotland to ask me what to do while she was in london! the car wouldn't start at a cousins, who had thought smart, topped up the 20 ltrs of petrol with some 60 ltrs of diesel, and the car was happily back in action! diy pleasure was second to none - no complicated electronics. they only got as complicated as - draw 2 wires from a battery to a bulb and it lights up - right in my league!. Service, most maintenance all DIY.
