Thanks. Yeah I really like the colour, I normally don't like grey but it looks good on the X5.

Thanks Sanj.

X5sport I just went for the GP thunders, I would prefer LEDs but with me working away I am worried that a fault may occur with them and my wife won't know what to do. I will upgrade to LEDs when I am back home for good.

From what's been said on here over recent months the GP Thunder bulb seems to be the only one that comes anywhere near the intensity of the LCI type LED DRL.

Shame they're so expensive to ship from the US though.  :(

Nice car too.

kkodal would sort you out there X5Sport, he can have them delivered to his UK site (still considered a US address), then just whatever to get them to you.

If interested, drop him a PM...

Yes looking at all the pictures I can find they seem to have a decent colour and brightness for a halogen bulb, as long as they look better than the original lights im happy. There was one being sold on the UK eBay site but it was dearer than getting it from the US.

I wish people would stop buying E70's and posting the pictures making all us E53'ers with no imminent hope of upgrading jealous..........

Only joking. Great looking X your wife has there  ;)

Hope she leaves it in a reasonable condition for you to have a play upon your return :)

Haha your not wrong there about it being the wife's. After she road tested she said she felt like she owned the road haha. She has never driven anything this big or an auto so she has been well warned to be careful.

Well say no more, it's nice to see that she has embraced the X5 ownership rights fully  :)

Bit late to the fold but congrats

The only thing I would have said was watch the timing o registration because some early ones fell in to the highest road tax rate!

I
Think 08 is ok

Cheers mate. Yeah I already checked that, it falls into the lower tax band.

Very nice spec, the grey in the SE with running boards etc. Looks the business I think. In fact that exact spec got me interested in the E70 X5. I always liked it after seeing it in the grey so when the time was right and I needed a family car I bought my X5 after trying both the 30 and 35d. Tried a few others like RR sport etc but the X5 won hands down for me.

Good choice. Enjoy it. They're cracking cars. Beware though, they're terrible on fuel. BMW would have you believe 30mpg combined !  :o

Thanks X5twin. We still haven't collected it as we are waiting on them repairing a cut door trim and repairing the peeling steering wheel trim. Should be ready this week at some point.

I really like the grey, my wife wanted black or white which I think looks nice but a lot more work to keep looking clean. Only 8 days 23 hours and 30 minutes until I am on my way home (not that I'm counting :-) )then I can drive the X for the first time.

I'm going to be fitting the GPthunder H8 angel eye bulbs and will post pics before and after.

Another steering wheel peeling. I have the same but mines not under warranty. Very jealous you're getting yours repaired ! Mine looks a bit cheap as some of the film has peeled of.

Enjoy the car  :)
