My wife told me "That's what husbands are for..."

But getting the spare out of it's nest is easy. Assuming you use the car to do it? Slot the plastic handle into the lock hole on the lower tailgate (in its up position) and just lower the tailgate. Up comes the spare and you just slide it towards you. And reverse the process to put it back.

Of course from then on it is of course hernia time...

Ok I have done some googling and found that 13.5 volts while running is classed as minimum.

The act range should be 13.5-14.5, using hidden menu mines 13.4 avg.

On the way to work this morning it was going from 13.5 max but did drop down to 12.9 minimum.
Before I started it up this morning volts was on 11.4 so it's still losing charge, so now this could be an Alternator problem.

Could it just be that the battery itself just needs a reconditioning charge with a ctek or similar? It has been discharged a couple of times by the sounds of it. Alternator could well be an issue but a pricey one so rule out the battery itself. There are a lot of different components that could be causing the drain though.

Well I'm taking it to be tested Saturday, both battery and Alternator.

So I'll no abit more then, just going off my googlings so far.

I'll be fitting Alternator my self if thats the cause, as this is easy to do, just the weathers got abit pants now.

Will keep up dated for future peeps.

As the man says, the battery has been 'dead' a couple of times. A fast charge won't have done it any good - except get you out of trouble. If is was a cheap one to start with then it's just possible a cell is feeling uppity and the volts have dropped. A conditioning charge may indeed help out - takes anywhere from 8-24 hours though.

For what it is worth, I used a FSR replacement I bought in German, Swedish and French rather than genuine BMW and it hasnt failed in 2 years now (touch wood)

Cheers guys

I take it you mean a slow charge, I just don't have time for that.

I'm only at home 11hrs before I'm back at work, I may get Saturday off but then I would have to work all day Sunday.

See what they say on Saturday but it does sound more likely to be the battery causing this. Tbh a conditioning charge willowy likely be done within the 11 hours you have.
