If someone went and spent all that money on the car, I doubt they'd skimp on the film so it'll be a pukka job. We used to get ours done by Pentagon Glass and you couldn't see the job. All our fleet had anti theft film, not tints, fitted. Needed to stop the 'smash & grab brigade' as we had some rather expensive hardware in the vehicles.

Welcome aboard and looks a superb example for the mileage.
Front windows are a decent aftermarket tint (50% most likely) to compliment the OE sun protection glass. Padddleshift will be a nice touch. I did this on both my 330d and 530d and loved it. Haven't gone with it on my 4.8 but never say never.

The first time I did the mod it was back in 2007 and the guide I used has now been removed. It's actually quite straight forward really. Pity you're not closer as I'd be happy to help.
Here's another link that might help: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=63211
You basically need the smg wheel, the smg slipring, round airbag and some wiring with relevant connector. Not the cheapest mod really.

Got that one bookmarked and its pretty good it was just the wiring around the box that I was worried about I guess your unplugging the wire from the box and putting in a fly lead/adapter to enable you to plug it back in and have a free socket then feed wire through to wheel and plug in. With my wheel which is in the pic do I deffinately need a new airbag?

Welcome and congrats on the 4.8is... good choice.
You should have the round airbag already I think...

Tbh I've always just soldered into the existing wiring at the gearknob end. Perfectly fine.
You will need a new airbag as the airbag used with the smg wheel is different in shape.

Welcome and great choice.
On the suspension inactive issue, I wouldn't get too freaked by it. There's lots of commentary on the site but unless it is obviously playing up from a visual inspection, it might well be sensors (cheap). I had it come on skiing in Austria last month. Drove home and turned out it was simply a sensor that had been knocked around in deep snow. At the risk of stating the obvious, some garages love replacing compressors etc. - big part cost and labour.
One of the first things you probably want to do is to find a trusted local (ish) independent BMW specialist.
Good luck.

Thanks everyone for all the welcoming comments for both the x5 and me. Regarding self levelling it's booked in with an Indy on Thursday for a kind of health check (to make sure I didn't buy a pup!) and get this checked so I'll keep you informed.
