Try emailing Danny at BMW Parts Online

If not listed then email him - he sourced a cam sensor for me on the Z3 & I will be buying my X5 pads from him too - decent guy & sends out what he agrees & charges you for not some other rubbish like some do.

I would probably stick to OE or Lemforder though. ;)

Thanks AW8. Will email him.

Just out of interest, is it ok to put non OEM parts on for wishbones. ECP are doing 25% off all items, and you can pay on collection. Was thinking of going for the non Lemforder parts as they work out cheaper.

I take it nothing other them OE or LEmforder is good enough?

I don't know enough to advise on various specific makes but the consensus seems to be OE or Lemforder this on back of me seeing various comments on other boards too & with content from respected posters.

I have a Vtech wishbone on the Z3 all tight & fits well but occasional noise.

I would only ever buy OE or Lemforder wishbones etc in future unless convinced otherwise by someone trusted & well informed.

Danny will give honest advice & do best to match/beat prices you get elsewhere wherever he can.

Ok, Ill start buy buying the upper lemforder wishbones for passenger and drivers side and see how that works.

You may want to let the forum know that ECP are doing 25% off everything ordered online, but can be collect and pay.

By all means post another thread re ECP if you wish. I know recent code offers have been discussed on bmwland. If no rush maybe get Danny to have a go at matching/bettering price, (no tie or association to him but it's good to speak to the guy who seemingly orders the stock & dispatches it to me).

Spoke to Danny. WHAT A NICE GUY. I cant recommend him enough. He even talked himself out of a sale for 2 parts. This guy is honest, and wont sell anything to you that isnt required.

Thanks AW8.

Both front ar uppers, 2 ball joints and the rubber bushes ( which ECP dont supply) all in for 160 odd. The brand is FEBI. Hes going to enquire about LEmforder ones as above parts too, so i can do the comparison.

Any idea what labour cost will be to change front uppers, ball joints, with new rubber bushes on both sides?

I can't price guess the work but you have a decent indy near you Bexley Motor Works......fsailing that I know some trustworthy in Haselmere.

I have febi-bilstein rear subframe bushes........well made but they seem a little hard on rare occasion(s). I would probably wait for lemforder prices before taking the plunge.

If Danny hasnt got somethng specific he can usually get it for you. Importantly he wont argue over quality concern post sale & will refund or exchange for something else if genuine reason for not being happy.

Glad you are happy with customer service as I have been thus far. I say it as it is..........if happy with a service provider I say so, however, if that changes & is not resolved without hassle then I would say so too.

Did mine myself so free. Probably a couple of hours per side to be generous, so depends how much you prefered garage charge. When I do pay for jobs I use my local garage as the owner also has an X5 and knows what he's doing, anything that needs specialist tools and it goes to Indy.

I was nearly so bold as to speculate 2hrs per side.......So realisticaly an indy will charge you between 3-4 hrs for both sides.

At £60 per hr approx at an indy thats £180-£240.

Maybe worth asking an indy to have a look if not 100% certain what needs changing. Sure you may pay £20 labour for 20 mins ramp & suspension diagnostic time but this might save you wasting money too.
