reading BMW coding website now but stil a bit worried about messing up with car electronics... it's not like changing smartphone firmware and jailbraking iphone ... it's like jailbraking £50k iphone :o :o :o

I felt the same about coding my £50k car, two things helped me be less worried about it. Firstly there is a really good and detailed walkthrough guide, follow that to the T and you will be fine. Secondly, when you code you program Specific independent modules such as the kombi module ( speedo) or the ccc module ( Satnav) so you won't screw up the whole car.
