Most reputable places will not do the front windows unless legal.

Things to note:

1. The film should go right to the edge, none of that cut 3/4mm from the top edge.

Agreed. All decent tinters will take it to the edge so not to be visible when the window is lowered

2. The film should be applied below the lowest point when the window is fully closed on the doors.

The door rubbers are usually removed to allow this

3. The rear will most likely be cut in two halves (if the curve on the rear screen is significant), make sure it doesn't mean one of the rear heating elements are cut! However new films and techniques may make it possible to do this in one piece (been a few years since I had it done).

I have never heard of this and have had all my cars tinted. Sanj's dodgy mates...lol

4. Expect the edges where the film overlaps the black edge to not stick (where you have those little 'dots' trying to create a gradient). It will be visibly whiter (unstuck) between the dots.

The dot matrix is a bit of a pain to get done right. Some tinters will actually sand this down to reduce the effect but if done well then isn't too noticeable.

Can anyone recommend someone for this in the Glasgow area? Maybe it's something the stealers will do....

If no one can recommend anybody near you then it may be worth contacting the dealers as they will usually have a contact who they use.
