Glad it was a simple and quick fix. It does make a change to find something that doesn't need a mortgage payment to fix :D

It must be Bonnet Alarm Switch Death time :) my 4.8 started doing the alarm thing earlier today randomly and I first thought it may be the battery starting to turn its toes up, but I've just come in from being blown about on the driveway and have cobbled together a bodge on the bonnet alarm switch which seems to have worked for now.....I taped an old round AG13 battery (after shielding the battery itself with tape) onto the bonnet on the little round area that presses on the alarm switch :) . I hunted for one of those felt type furniture leg tabs but couldn't find any in the general disorganisation at home so just used the above mentioned plan :evil: BMW can fix it under warranty when it goes in for a service shortly. Typical for these things to happen on cold blustery nights over weekends :cry:
