Was just about to start a topic on batteries.
Have original battery 200, since this was the first cold cold start, noticed turnover was real slowwww. Did have the same issues last winter, including having to jump start a few tumes, fine through the warner months.
I take it that's it's a forgone conclusion that I need a new battery, right?
Anyone got a price from Costco? They do the Bosch Silver.

All done, small issue of crossed thread but lucky there was just enough left to fit back on.
Took it for a test drive I can definitely feel more power, took a quick pic of the speedo for proof, although it went mental once we hit the A road and Sanj took the car past 140mph

Can I just ask for clarification about exactly what Bosch Silver Battery we are talking about as the best recommendation
I noticed the S3 and S5 are both mentioned. however, the small print on the Eurocarparts sites states that the S3 is for smaller engined vehicles and that the S5 should be for larger/larger engined vehicles so I wouldnt have thought the S3 was th best battery option
Also this website here, And I know it may not be the most cost effective site but it quite good at splitting out the specs, shows a wide range of Bosch Silver S5 batteries -
http://www.boschbatteries.com/p0/bosch-s5/2307.htm
AM i Right in say the most appropriate battery would be the 100 Ah one here
http://www.boschbatteries.com/bosch-s5/ ... 8-1-27.php ?
Thanks

Both Jeegnesh and I had to look at this subject again today...
Originally I stated S3 = 3 years warranty, S4 = 4 years warranty and S5 = 5 years.
That's true but one other thing.
Bosch S3 = 90Ah
Bosch S4 = 95Ah
Bosch S5 = 100Ah
Standard BMW OEM spec battery is 90Ah.
Battery size is of the larger type (not the small foot-print, JUST like OEM)! So they are meant for the larger cars anyway. Bosch do the smaller type batteries too! Possibly hence the description confusion.
Go with the larger foot-print and what Ah you wish from the above. Jeegnesh picked up the S3 for sub £80 with current ECP discounts. Shouldv'e taken a pic but I was too busy making the tea.

When I bought from Halfords last year there where 2 different battery's available, both the same size but the S5 had a higher CCA value (cranking capacity), so you have more power to start the car.

Was that before or after washing your hair..
You might also have exceeded light speed too, except looking at the dash, someone left the Parking Brake on..

IMO yes

. They will all work but that ones the daddy

especially if you have extra mods like the park heater etc that can add drain to the battery.
