+1 for the posh Skodas

Friends of ours have just had their Merc C320D nicked - broke into their house and nicked the keys as they did to Sanj's family a year ago (a big problem in the South East apparentlty) - and I suggested a Skoda as a replacement but got the same old 'I'm not buying one of those, they're rubbish! It's a Skoda". Oh well some people still don't get it.

I'm not allowed to buy an Audi - SWMBO has rules!! Something to do with 'cock rings' which I'll not explain as I'm not sure I understand it either. I learned to drive on Audi 100's in the 1970's - manual and auto. In those days autos were three speed too.

@X5Sport - hope friends OK buddy, sh!ty thing to happen to anyone. Invasion of home/premises is worse than taking the car.

FIL finally getting over it and we will be 'seeing' what he buys next!

Audi's I love and hate. I like the DRL's unlike many but the make does nothing for me like the BMW's and dare I say it the Mercs. Although, get my 6 numbers and ironically the car of choice would be an R8 (subtletyI suppose - which works for and against them). Suppose the DRL's might be the USP here - they have the new design which works better and not so in-your-face....

I think BMWs are going backwards.

I've had a few new 5s and Z4s as loan cars and dont rate them at all as a decent drive

The new 1er isn't getting great reviews by the press

I tried a C63 merc and didn't like the gearbox but loved the noise not that you really hear it in the inside

Tried an XFR and thought nice but not wow

Had extended drive in RS5 and that did it for me.

Don't care much what it looks like (the X5 is hardly a looker!) just want sweet drive and it sounds like a NASCAR!

As a side note, I too like the new Audi DRL's, a much better light output, and today I was almost blinded by the DRL's of a Porsche which were brighter than the xenons. Mad.
Loving the 4 rings RS soundtrack, I reckon the noise alone could sell cars.

Gonna be selling one of the motors gone new year, my target is at least 100 pages

Minda - I would be removing every other of your posts to keep it to a reasonable size and nobody would notice the difference

Sorry, can't resist this.......Well our new Mini's nearly here!................. that should extend this one by a few pages towards the target 50-100

Either that or I'll get banned....
