scanner 1.4.0 drivers and software will work on windows 7, as i now have it on my netbook with windows 7

My friend has a Scanner 1.4 0, if anybody want there park heater enabled or alarm settings changed or any other settings changing he will do it for £20, he lives in Manchester

i ordered one but we'll see on the windows 7 compatibility.

If you having issues running the programme on win 7 try right clicking on the icon and choose "troubleshoot compatibility" try running the programme in windows xp mode or windows 95. This usually works.

Mine works fine on Win 7.

im having a bit of trouble with mine, just got it tried installing it to laptop, and keep getting stuck when trying to install driver, using xp, the window for installing new hardware pops up, click install from disc, then it says no driver update on cd...

im stumped tried to follow the pdf instructions to a tee. Bought it from OBD master on ebay, anyone else bought from him and managed to get it working?

i installed the scanner last week. is this what you see in the folder where you're hoping to pick up the driver from?


also it should be XP Service Pack 2 or 3 (not 1).

my unit was from below not the same source as yours, but unlikely to be different..

Hi garioch. I got from the same supplier and the issue you might be having is that you probably can't find a folder with those drivers in. This is because the software you need (both scanner and FTDI drivers) are inside a .rar file called "bmwscan_140.rar" . This .rar file needs to be extracted just like a zip folder then you will be able to see the actual software and drivers.

If you don't already have a program that unpacks .rar files, you can download a free one from http://www.download.com. as per the following link.

Gchristofi, what folder did you find the .rar file in?

I'll have a look after work and take some screenshots to let you see what I'm seeing.

On the mini CD in the "car soft" folder
