It can be set via obc if enabled with BMW scanner or can be activated with a timer but it will only blow ambient air temp it will not get hot. I have tried unsuccessfully for a year now and done lots of research. You'll find more info on the other thread.

After 22 pages, I`m totally confused.

Some are working perfectly
Some aren`t
Some are working with a telesart but don`t function to aid the engine warm up unless turned on manually with fob (since the scanner activation)
Some only blow ambient air.

What I do know is a friend bought the telestart kit and still has it boxed up, unused as his worked perfectly after activation ? Seems a complete lottery

No I think some people think it's working because the vents come on and air flow can be felt. On that other thread I have posted a link to a webasto manual. The difference between thermo z and thermo c are there in black and White. An upgrade kit will turn a z into a c, which includes the additional pump which is the pump that pushes the hot coolant around the heater matrix. That is the important bit... Without that extra pump on the webasto the coolant is only pushed around block via the standard pump down by the radiator. I'm in the process of finding out prices for the upgrade kit and also if a fitting kit is also required. Section 2 of the link I posted gives info and diagrams of thermo z and c.

Hope that helps a bit

Lovely car and colour, hope you like it? Now you've had some time with it?

The wood is good albeit I have made a slight change to mine (I get bored too easy).
