Warranty Direct paid for mine after the failure and after BMW had diagnosed failures of the clutch and brake packs. They did not pay for the diagnosis (which was about £60 and simply told them the box was busted and needed a rebuild (or in their case replacement). They will not pay for 'preventative' maintenance as there is no formal maintenance process offered by BMW and I suspect they would take the line that it's fair wear & tear so not covered. A complete failure is different. With BMW it's either working, or they replace the box at £7k a pop - no repairs offered by BMW Dealers as they are not allowed to touch the box. My (then) dealer told me in 2009 that any fluid changes are at 'customer risk' - which was nice of them. That dealer has since ceased trading and the franchise gone elsewhere.

You're asking all the questions I was about to ask. I'm wanting the oil and filter changing on the gearbox, transfer box, and diff. And gearbox firmware upgrade please. How much Jason and can it be done in a day visit (I'm Sussex based so not too far away but prefer to drop off and collect on the same day if possible).
