Done the Polo MOT today - £39 at the VW dealer
RIP OFF!!! £35 for mine! Then the brake fluid change, rear pads, front pads, pollen filter.........
Don't tell me you need front pads again !!!! Bet you have only done 4k since you last changed them !!
I thought Sanj drove that slow he didn't need to use the brakes much. Or is it where he slows down further for the corners

Sorry to hear Mitch but all can be sorted for not massive expense.
The rear ball joints (I went oem) and as you know I have the tool when you need it. Front arms just go to GSF. I got the front lower arms and the ball joints for £136 all in.

Cheers Raj
£136 all in
i better do some price hunting me thinks as that sounds a lot better than the prices i've seen at first glance ...from the dealers mind.

Just to clarify (having read my post back..lol), the £136 was for the front arms and front ball joints that the front arms bolt to as I decided to replace both instead of just the arms. Still way cheaper than the dealer.
The rear ball joints from the dealer cost me about £80ish for both (and still need to do the one side).

Sure when I did mine I paid the same for front arms left and right for the same price as one arm from main dealer. I won't use pattern parts. They will fit and be fine but they can be slightly off size and that throws geometry out.... Plus I'm a fussy bugger..... Discount on the sub box lol

Thanks again
i've got my BIL on the case now as he should be able to source better quality parts and at a decent price hopefully.
I've seen plenty of parts on fleabay but they all list diffferent part numbers etc etc so don't want to end up with a load of old rubbish
I have sourced cheaper parts from there before and they have been fine in fairness but for the steering that takes a pounding on these big cars i wnat to get some decent parts
@ Mother.... where did you get your parts from and how much if you don't mind me asking.
@ dirtymonkey 29 i'm sure we can sort something out with the enclosure

Hello
I can't give advice on anything unfortunatly but totally agree that this a big lump of a car and quality is important. I have not had good experience with pattern parts im afraid so will avoid wherever possible but the cost of some of these things does make you consider the options. Sorry it was not better news

Got mine off ebay.... right and left for £14.00 delivered, guy at the garage couldnt believe how much i paid for them.....if they dont last long i will just get better ones and fit them myself as its just 2 nuts, i only got him to fit them as i was replacing both driveshafts and cvs and didnt fancy doing it all myself.....they seemed decent quality tbh.....i will post if any problems.....car drives smooth as now.
