Oh well ive created something new. Now, the front 12v socket suddenly isn't working any idea which fuse that is! I'm not randomly pulling any more.

The 5amp fuse identified wasnt blown, so no progress there either.

I think ill have to get ripped off at the dealership on the front springs visit.

F111 20A. The rears are F113 and F115. Bottom, Middle, Top of the same column and in that order (111 is at the bottom). They’re all 20A. Your bottom arrow is fuse 111.

If you pull a fuse out check the contacts behind it on the fuse board are in place. The first time my i4 dash cam failed was because the female connector on one leg of the fuse had pushed back (it wasn’t properly latched into the fuse board).

For the feeble minded like me, and allowing for several cans of Guiness, the three i have highlighted? I have already replaced the bottom fuse which seemed to reinstate the centre console rear socket. I didn't check that again this morning, after fresh disappointmen i didnt bother to check. That's a fresh job for tomorrow.

Intriguing. As mentioned i have already changed the lower fuse to correct the rear centre console socket. The 5amp above it has cleared the camera issue but unless senility is afflicting me , im pretty confident there wasn't any value fuse in that position originally.

More delving tomorrow

Hence my suggesting checking the fuse contact points in the fusebox itself. If one has pushed back then you’ll get a bad contact. It’s a straight run from the fuse to the 12V socket.

You may also have a cracked fuse. It might look OK but isn’t. A meter would show the fault.

I am admitting defeat.

All three fuses identified and all are ok. The rear 12v sockets had previously worked from replacing the lower fuse but do not now? The headlight warning still displays and briefly i saw a parking brake failure pop up.

It's something for the dealership now I think.

Charge the batery up it might work might not
20 amp fuses dont blow unless there is a short , a piece of metal had fallen into my front socket to blow that fuse .
This also all started with the camera so I suggest you detach the wiring to it where you joined the car loom and then replace that fuse and see what happens as something isnt right.

The dash camera is connected via an OBD port now, and it is hassle free.

The issue really began when i made the single rear console socket into a twin . When refitting the console panel, one of my crimp connections wasn't adequate, and the live wire popped out and created a short, blowing a fuse. That i thought was sorted days ago by replacement of the lowest identified 20amp in my recent picture. Since then i have been trying to resolve the headlight warning and disturbed more fuses along the way.

I suspect having disturbed stuff in the front fuse box as well, it's time to have it code read and go from there. I'm not disturbing anything more.

To update. Got the car back this afternoon with new springs etc, all sorted.

Regarding the fuses issue, obviously my error initially and it seems the guidance from here was unsurprisingly accurate. The correct fuse positions were correctly populated. The reason that the rear socket initially worked again then didnt was just as "X5" had speculated, the fuse box had its own issue, exacerbated by my frequent push/ pull attempts while trying to get things to work again. Its noted on the invoice and to my surprise, there was no charge!

Looking at the parts prices, there appear to have been discounts applied

The day still ended up somewhat tarnished when i found this under the bonnet. Clearly from the recent brake fluid change but why not report it, rather than leave me to find it

Glad the fuse problem is sorted. That broken trim piece is unforgivable though and I’d be looking for a replacement that’s also FOC.

I have obviously reported it and will request they deal with it. What irritates me most is not owning up to it and, i now have to made another dealer visit.
