30 mpg is decent for such a beast ,the official figures are simply not possible guessing it's a claimed 37 as 47 is never going to happen unless on the back of a truck !
My e70sd only manages about 25 of a claimed 34 mpg ,it's on 21's too and the ride I find is totally fine so not surprised yours is too although I'm on normal tyres . :driving:

Hi Leslie yes I am quite happy at 30 mpg , last owner didnt reset the trip and over 7850 miles averaged 34.5 mpg , I saw the car the day it arrived at the dealer as I new it was a px coming in , it was clean even then so new it was a good one . The main dealer replaced the front and rear pads , swopped the wheels as it had 20" on that were going for refurb and did a full check on the car , it also had a major service as it was due and covered under the 5 year service plan . The w/e I bought it they were also giving a 2 nd year free warranty through BMW which i was happy about £600 saving .

Very nice indeed.

I didnt know you could get a touchscreen iDrive in the F15. What year is it?

Very nice car, that colour looks superb, I have a 40d in mineral white and same 21" wheels, which aren't too bad to clean, if you keep on top of them, same with the car, but have made a mental note to myself not to have another white car, especially a large on!

Over the first 9.5 k miles it has averaged 33 mpg, but that includes around two thousand miles of towing a caravan, so very pleased with that figure on a decent run its generally mid to high 30's, depending a lot on the terrain.

PS Discovered mine had a touchscreen idrive the other day when I pointed at something on the map accidentally and touched the screen.

Enjoy your new car

Hi yes other 2 cars were white never again, the flys seems to use them as a wc, every time I wash them they are covered in black spots. Takes about an hour each one to clean it off, pleased one got traded in!
I am pleasantly surprised by the ride on the 21" but have bought 20" for winters and 19" are being collected on Sunday as it is harder than I thought to get 20" staggered winter tyres.
Touch screen was an unexpected bonus as I didn't think it was added until 2017 models!
It is a great piece of kit but we better keep quiet before they all buy one.

I expected the ride to be very firm with 21" wheels but was very surprised at how good it is, although I have been very careful on anything other than smooth tarmac, completely different from the Disco 4 I used for towing before the crankshaft failed at 20k miles!

I too have a set of 19" non staggered winters that I bought with the car, which are fine, but it was a relatively mild winter last year, so will see what this winter brings.

I am still tentatively looking for a staggered set of 20" or perhaps 19" wheels to put on as an alternative to the 21 inch ones especially when we are away touring with the caravan, as less likely to get damaged on some of the approach tracks, but not totally convinced its worthwhile.

Hi Wayfarer
I was planning on getting another twin axle next year as we miss our Superstorm , regarding the 19" none staggered are yours the 467M version with the et37 offset ? if so do they look weeney in the arches as that is the reason for buying the 20" ones , I didnt realise it was going to be so hard to find matching winter runflat tyres so may either get a set of new summers for next season or sell them !
regards

Hi Sid
Not sure of the wheel type but 19” a couple of photos below, neither are brilliant though, but having winters refitted last week Oct, so will post a photo, they look smaller, but not too bad, but my main concern was not getting stuck in the snow, as it happened it was a very mild winter so could probably have got away without fitting winters, but coming from a discovery 4, with diff locks low ratio etc, (a great car apart from it’s fragile engine - snapped crankshaft that required a new engine at 20k miles and 2.5 years old!! ) to an x5, wanted to minimise the risk of getting caught out in any snow etc.

Well turned 30k miles last week still in love with the beast ! average mpg is 31.7 so still amazing for such a big car . Had the winters on since November which are 19" 467M and look a bit weeney although I haven`t noticed much difference in the ride quality .I was unable to get rear winter tyres for the wheels I bought because most places say they are only available in the summer go figure !
I have been surprised how easily the car covers the miles , also have a Gran tourer 220d xdrive M sport a Boxster and the latest addition 2019 Polo Beats for my son to learn in ! time flies another son learning next year will be bankrupt soon .
Looking for a set of roof bars for the car if anyone has a set not being used ?

Good to hear you are still enjoying it, love mine, probably the best car I have owned so far, just under 13k miles now with an actual average consumption showing on fuelio as 33.3 mpg and that included at least two thousand Mike's of towing the caravan, so very impressed given the size of the car.

That's one of the reasons I went for 19" non staggered for winters, that I'd heard getting staggered 20" could be a bit of a challenge.

But again winters fitted and another mild winter, although drove through a lot of sleet, slush and heavy rain coming over Shap yesterday, on my way back from Carlisle, but reckon it would have been fine with summers on!

I wonder what size of wheel if any one could get all run flat all seasons tyres for, as that might be the way to go in the future.

Not looking forward to he cost of replacing the 21" tyres when they need doing, although hopefully get another summer out of them.

Hi should have popped in for a coffee I am in Carlisle !
I am dreading getting new tyres next year but did manage to get a set of part worn 20” winters for next year . The 19” look very small in the arches .
