Thanks for all the replies.
It would seem my X5 is running at the typical average of 17-18mpg. So unlikely to improve.

That’s easily over 30mpg (money wise) which is not bad for a 2 ton truck.

Just had a journey of around 100 miles and the average at the end was 24.1 for my 30.si. That was travelling 70 to 75 indicated but on the throttle not on cruise.
Very pleased with that. Not so pleased that after leaving it for 17 days the battery was dead.

Welcome to X5 ownership. 17 days is a lifetime to an X5 battery that isn’t in tip top condition.

It was a new BMW battery just a year ago and had done a 90+ mike run before been parked up.
I see people suggest the Yuasa 100 amp as a good battery to have.

Get the battery checked( although only 12 mths old) and if possible get it done the old fashioned way with a dead drop reader, ( will put a dead short into the battery and soon sort out if you have a dead or failing cell.
