3 claims in 5 years will have made any NCD you have totally worthless , my premium more than doubled from my old 330d e46 to an x5sd ,was told its group 47 out of 50 !

I learnt my lesson from front loading. To be fair she has been unlucky.. most are partial blame.
Some insurance only want 3 years history so might be ok next year. I did protect NCD but claims ultimately decide the premium I guess.

2011 4.0d
This is the first year, the wife has not been on my insurance, primarily she never drives it, though this year it worked out cheaper, without her as named driver
43, full years NCD, £250 Excess, with all bells & Whistles including protected NCD courtesy car & (free) Breakdown cover, mileage Cap 6000miles

Churchill’s £318

Wasn’t the cheapest quote though did haggle - Hard

£318 for an X5 4.0d... just had £779 for  Yaris 1.33 and that’s a Group 4 insurance .. from LV.com.

I ran (refreshed) the quote this morning
Cheapest is £304
Note the excess, £100 Voluntary, £350 Compulsary, breakdown cover was thrown in as repeat customer

There is price difference, if I run the same quote and require insurance today, it’ll come out more expensive, I changed the date to near end of month, price will come down...
Then there’s the Postcode thing
I normally wait for the renewal price, run the comparison sites and get a representive quote with the same level of cover, then phone up and discuss with a real person, requesting they price match or better, otherwise cancel renewal.
This year, surprisingly the renewal was cheaper, so I blagged the call to get Breakdown thrown in!
All I’d suggest is making the sure the policy is as per your requirements and read the fine print
I view Churchill as a reputable company though still read policy line by line!

I’ve always found these sites expensive than going directly on their website. Some sites like SAGA weren’t on the comparative site but was cheaper direct.
