Probably a good time to update the thread and mention that I went with warranty direct on my 40d which cost £600.
In case you haven’t seen my other thread, it has just paid out £14.9k towards the £17k cost of an engine replacement (and a few other parts).

I know that I got refunded diagnostics of £120. They don’t pay upfront but will reimburse you if it’s a valid claim. To be honest it’s no point taking it to dealer.
My dealer messed up.. couldn’t diagnose so I took it back to seller who had specialist diagnose and fit a new controller. The dealer had no clue thought it was the Liunbus comms fault. I also had a decoke done free of charge. I would rather take it to that specialist first time now.
Paid £1499 for 3 years with all but suspension cover.
Also cover wear and tear from 90 days but Bmw no cover from day 1.
