Carly is pretty simple though. Done quite a few changes with that, including folding mirror on lock.

My F15 has comfort so holding either the lock button on the key or keeping your finger on the ridges on the door will fold the mirrors  :)

However it also partly closes the sunroof blind  >:D

I've ordered a coder and downloaded the app, the least I want to do is:

Quicker mirror folding
Turn signals in HUD
DVD in motion
Seat belt noise off
Auto engine stop off as standard

What other coding is worth investigating and do I need the BimmerLink app as well as BimmCode app?

Would be good to also have rev counter in the HUD when in sport much like my old M5!

Is that possible?

It is already available for the M, not sure about yours.

You can always drop by as I have a Carly here.

Ah, didn't know that and I've just ordered the BimmerCode one off Amazon

The rev counter within HUD when pressing on filling the atmosphere with toxic gases is surprisingly useful!

I’ve now got

Folding mirrors up to 30mph
Fold mirrors on press of the lock button, without having to hold it down
Lights in door handles come on in reverse
Delay for remote tailgate reduced to 1 second
Stop start off
M logo on the splash screen
Turn off cold/ warm indicator monitoring, as I have LED bulbs

I’m sure there’s other stuff that I’ve forgotten!

As the car shudders, and the errors come up on the dash when you hit the code button, I get a bit worried that I’ve broken something, but it clears the errors when you turn the car off and on again!

I had a major panic this morning as my HUD wasn’t working. I was bricking it that I had broken my car within a week by doing some coding! I too got errors when making the changes but they had all cleared. Switching off the HUD display and back on made it come back to life! Phew...

It’s one of those things I’ll try not to do too often, as I’m likely to break something. I’m quitting while I’m ahead! :))

I refer you back to my question......

Is coding safe?  ;)

Yep, I’d say so. With the number of people that code their own cars with Bimmercode, it would soon become apparent on forums if there were issues.

I think issues are rare when doing fairly straightforward things. Errors as coding are however common and do play with the nerves a little!  These generally vanish fairly quickly after leaving the car for a while.  I might change a couple more things and that will do me.

The errors disappear as soon as you turn the car off and on again. And who knows if that doesn’t happen when the dealer codes our cars?  ;)

I previously had a 2014 X3 and ordered Carly Pro software and WiFi dongle.
I had never dared to code anything in the past, so it was all new to me.
I set everything up, did a supposed backup as requested then tried to do a couple of simple coded, Stop/Start last setting and indicators to 5 flashes.
However, on saving everything, closing down and removing the dongle and starting the car I had some major issues with lighting :o. The offside indicators didn't work, the offside DRL didn't work and the nearside headlight also didn't work.
Now panicking a bit  :-[, I then tried to do a re-install back to the original settings, but when I tried to do this I got a message informing me that there was no backup available  :(.
I contacted Carly who eventually informed me that the software wasn't fully developed yet and that I "just needed to get the offside modem flashed" by a local BMW garage, cost apparently about £150.00, and it would be ok.
As the car was still well under its 3yr warranty I was now very worried. I contacted my local BMW dealer, explaining the issues I had with the car (not mentioning my dabbling of course!!), and they just said that these modules do sometimes do glitch like this. Upshot was it went in and was all back to normal  ::).
Her indoors went ballistic, and I have never mentioned coding to her since.
Carly were very good, I returned the dongle and refunded all my costs and also doubled the refund of the dongle.
However, I am now very nervous about doing any coding, even though I would like to do just a few things, door mirrors, indicators, close tailgate from key fob and remember last stop/start setting or default as off.

That sounds like a nightmare. Luckily, Bimmercode is properly developed, and does exactly what it should. I:taking the dongle to a friends tomorrow, and needs some coding done.

Has anyone tried to get turn signals onto the HUD?

I can’t find that option anywhere in the easy coding, it’s probably in the expert coding but I’d like a bit of advice first!

I’ve changed the monitor start up logo, turned auto stop off as standard and reduced the lock time on comfort to 0 to stop the roof shade from closing. I’ve also enabled tow hitch zoom display.
