Hi, does fitting the wiring lead to any error messages being thrown up by the system?
Somthing that puts me off doing it myself. :)

Re the error
It's nothing to do with fitting or related to the fitting.
The error flagged with disconnecting the battery for long periods of time and effects most models across the E series range (Apparently)
The Steering Angle Sensor looses the position of the wheels and has to be reset, similar to old radios requiring a code.
I done lots of research and had the joys of trying myself,

Enter car, start engine
Turn lock full to the left
Turn lock full to the right
Centre wheels to straight ahead
The warning sign disappears

The same message can be flagged with a low battery, my car was in for detailing (doors open for extended period) followed by a three week idle period sat on the drive, thereafter another wash with doors open prior to disconnecting battery so the battery was pretty run down, which would flag the error
My cars been on charge with Ctek Charger since yesterday and currently fully charged just waiting to switch over to trickle feed to ensure battery is good and maintaining the charge i.e. Battery is not dead

Excuse the confusion.

Same thing on the E53 and same fix with the steering wheel.

With this tow-bar. There is some cutting away needed isn't there? Did you need any additional parts other than the tow bar too?

I have an E70 30d M Sport 59 plate and I found the ikea-style instructions not completely clear.

I'm too chicken to do it myself but my local garage will do this for me and it doesn't seem like this is a specialist type task (correct me if I'm wrong).

Thanks.

Here you go

These were taken pre filing smooth & the wiring plug swings down nicely...

The width & shape is pretty much as per the marks on the underside
The cut is entirely invisible from the rear.

I think there is a panel for the SE bumper but not the M Sport.
