Is there any evidence of any gearbox maintenance???
Also what mileages??

May just be the change adaptations need to be reset??

Interestingly, I spoke to an auto gearbox specialist recently who said I didn't need to do a gearbox oil change until 100k, mine has 68k.......

Let's close this thread with a happy ending. Garage reports no problems with the transmission. Ran some diagnostics along with a test drive and found it to be fine. Those with more knowledge than me can fill in the blanks; I think they performed an adaptive reset or something. They thought the previous owner suffered a flat battery.........I couldn't take in the rest as I was slumped in my chair, head back with relief.
They also reset some fault codes they thought were historic and said they wouldn't charge me anything extra for this service, just fix up my ball joint and brakes as initially requested.
The dealer has come back and said he will cover the parts cost which he equates to around £120 and will send me two rear parking sensors.
Obviously I'm more than happy that this is now resolved.
Used the garage before for the wife's Z4. Highly recommend them. Bridge of Don garage, Denmore industrial estate, Aberdeen.
