Can't hear the turbo on either my E39 or E53 , even with the windows down and both re-mapped .
Obviously mine is contrary to the normal .. typical !!!

Should my turbo whistle

Post by Rusty » Sat Apr 02, 2011 10:43 pm
Hi

I'm confused as usual. Ever since i've had my car (approx 2 yrs) I've noticed that there is a whistle from the turbo. I've noticed that it appears (can't guarantee this) louder since I've had my remap.
Just thought I would add that the turbo whistle does appear more noticeable on a remapped car, probably because the turbo is doing that little bit more. I would also like to say that it can only be heard with the pano open or window down. Great sound either way

Its the turbines spinning, its normal on any turbo car...its the high whine you need to worry about almost like a shrill thats a sign of possible turbo failure.
