I don't think this is an LCI but it does have some changes that are worthwhile.

My dealer has just emailed me to confirm my car is being built after week 31 which is from August 1st and will have the new iDrive etc.

if yours hasn't been built yet you could do the same and ask your dealer to cancel it and reinstate it to be built after week 31

Mine will be built by then, as it'll be at the dealer at the beginning of August. I'm not too worried about the new Idrive or other minor updates, but didn't want to get it if there's an LCI with new bumpers/ lights etc.

Hi guys, just joined XDrivers having been a regular on F30 post for a few years - I'll get around to updating my profile soon...

So after a lot of test drives I finally settled on an X5 M50d and placed my order right at the end of April. After a couple of changes I've now discovered these MY17 changes and my dealer is currently waiting for the systems update so I can add the MSport+ pack with HUD! I'm led to believe the changes take place from the first week or August, my car currently due to build a week or two before!

mogsyman - can I ask when you ordered yours and how long before it was confirmed/planned for production?

Anyway, thought you might like to hear about other changes for MY17:

From August this is what's happening...

Windscreen surround will no longer be body colour - changing to black
SE Key will now be black plastic instead of chrome
Mineral Silver now deleted
'Atlas Cedar' a new colour for SE
Dakota leather on the central armrest and door armrests as well as front edge of rear seats is being replaced with artificial leather
White leather with white 'world' deleted
Ambient lighting now selectable from 9 colours (instead of white/blue/orange) but backrest lighting on front seats is going
BMW pro-nav updated to latest iDrive with higher res and touch screen
New black wheel option
Internet standalone function discontinued - exiting users will NOT be able to renew subscription
EBT is now £470 and comes with wireless charging and Wifi hotspot prep
MSport Plus package introduced which is the winner for me, 20" wheels, SPG, HUD,HK,SLD for £3095 (previously £3685)

I placed my order about a month or 6 weeks ago but that's been cancelled and the car has now gone back into the system.

Not sure which week it's being built but is due week 37 and will be built after 1st August.

Thanks for the info, that's put my mind at rest. I was hoping there wouldn't be an LCI model yet, so as long as mine looks the same, a few subtle interior/ package changes don't worry me.

Agreed.

I'm not desperate to get the updated model, not fussed about the idrive 5 at all but the sport plus pack would give me HUD and SLD for £600 (not ordered either at the moment).

The 'next' X5 is planned 2017/2018 time, post VED changes!

What's SLD?

Speed Limit Display.

Without HUD it shows up in the black panel, apparently with HUD it's an excellent add on.

I have now locked my spec and removed the rear folding seats, I don't want to become a taxi for every ankle-biter locally!

Updates applied to my order today - I'll take delivery of a MY17 with added HUD/SLD as well as all the other gear for just £530 more!

Delivery expected late September so delayed by less than one month.

Good result, well done  :punk:

Ive got HUD in my M5 and can't believe it's not standard in all cars.

Once you've had it, it's an option you can't do without 

I've got PSA - Passenger Side Assistant.  Tells me exactly what's going on without me looking anywhere but out the front window with a 1,000yd stare....... O:-)

ROFL - I've got PSA too but frankly find it unreliable....
