Old bag looked in good condition, but when I extended the bottom, you could see where it looked to have worn, I'd guess the source of the leak (I didn't specifically find a leak, but from the other one being done 6 months ag by the previous owner and a reasonably regular working of the pump after journeys, decided that it wasn't worth risking the pump going).
Yes I thought it was good value - pure luck as picked the first person on google that had a decent amount of positive reviews - he just happened to be able to fit me in and be pretty good.
Defo not worth the hassle at hose prices! Had the bottom of located easily, I'd of been ok (I think)

Fixed, labour cost £45
Garage had a gizmo to control the air suspension
Released the air out and swapped over
Box from Germany
Left side showed signs of fraying
Right side seemed okay, but both changed

Right side

I bought the same ones last week, and had them fitted myself. It was the first "major" mechanic job I did on a car. It was surprisingly simple and satisfying doing it yourself without having to donate a kidney to pay BMW to do it. Both of them took under two hours to do (with some swearing when the bottom part wouldn't clip in). Mine looked exactly the same, left one heavily frayed, but right one not so bad.

In glad it's fixed my problem
I can only for see more of these requiring these but many will go down BMW route as not many stocked options in England on oem quality parts
I don't quite understand how those do it as DIY as the garage got it to fit back being able to lower it into position using the electronics and that it was up on ramps
But fair play to those have
Wander what the quality of arnott ones are like as they are double the price again

So it’s been just over two years since getting this done
I’ve noticed my near side rear dropped again after 24 hours of no use
It’s gone back up after switching car on and will have to keep an eye on it again

Having replaced leaking bags with Aerosus
Just over 2 years the the nsr went again and decided to replace it with another aerosus
However my osr just over 2.5 years has gone again
Having had 3 aerosus I’m thinking of going arnott
The compressor still works as it gets back to ride height so I’m suspecting it’s the bag again
Anyone recommend the best price stockist for e70 x5 sport 7 seater rear air bag; arnott ones please?

Eurocarparts
They offer Bilstein airbags, could of swore I got mine for much less

Relatively simple job, the keyto fitment, install and quarter time to the top, leave it to hang
With the use of a second jack, jack up the suspension arm and offer the lower mount until it clicks in
Then
Switch on ignition and inflate bag ensuring no weight is placed on axle that you just changed
Once inflated, remove said second jack and install wheel
Circa 1/2 hour per side with the hardest part locating the top and the most time spent removing wheel

I’ve had three aerosus
First one failed just over 2 years
The other seems to have gone just under 3 years
Going to try arnott I think

The Aerosus ones look to have seams in them which the oem ones don't and really (imo) they are half the price of a decent Arnott one for a reason ,if labours free then they may be worth a gamble but if you have to pay fit good ones .

I don’t really know what I’m looking at
I have a aerosus which looks in good condition but swapped it out and seems to have fixed; but maybe it’s a the lower grade quality which doesn’t hold up to time as well
Arnott is about £160 or bilstein I can pickup tomorrow £190
Arnott or bilstein?

If they fit into place easily then that would be a good start , sounds like the Aerosus ones are a bad fit at the bottom onto the suspension.
