Re: Temporary rough idle when cold

Hi Guys,
Really sorry to bump such an old thread but I didnt want to waste a new topic for a similar issue.
Ive a 2001 4.4i sport X5 that when starting after sitting up and engine is cold sometimes is hesitant to rev or accelerate with any speed. I do not drive a car fast until warm but for example, when pulling away from lights I would find that unless I accelerate very gentely the car would shudder and feel like it is going to stall.
Is this a sympton of the valvetronic intermediate levers. At idle there is no rough running at all. Only when reving or accelerating and only for a very short time (less than 2min)
If it is the valvetronic intermediate levers, was it a recall issue, the car has only done 53k from new but not sure if it ever had warrently work undertaken.
Thanks.
Paul.
