2A is too low indeed.  That battery really needs at least 5A.  With 2A it will take approx 48 hours to charge assuming no system losses or battery faults.

Things are looking up, I got lights and central locking. I had a battery jumping under the bonnet with a charger charging that battery in series to get some juice into the main battery. I've pulled the telephone fuse as people have reported the telephone as a problem. Finally I've ordered a 10a charger from cpc so I shouldn't have a two day charge cycle in future.

Then I'll be trying Using the  we fit service at halfords and stand well back as they activate my log bomb.
