Based on what they ordered and the receipts that came with the x5, seem to be a tyre called Accelerate?

Accelera iota are what they will likely be.....esentially a low cost budget tyre.

Folk are often happy to slate budgets on car forums,  albeit some that do  may not have driven a car like yours so specifically equipped.

I have read of folk driving other cars being happy enough with them ,  but do bear in mind you are running the flagship E53 which even by todays standards in no slouch. A lot will depend on how you intend to drive the car. Most tyres on most cars seldom get near their capability limits...........albeit there will always be someone on a forum or in a pub who will say to run premium rubber just in case you might find yourself in a situation where a premium tyre is the only factor that might save your life.

Plenty of drivers out there whose driving is far more detrimental to their safety than their tyre brand(s) !!!

Me ? Well it's a 4.8is.....If lucky enought to own one I would aim for ending up for all round fitment of toyo, vredestein, hankook or other decent performing mid range or perhaps even premium tyres assuming I sourced them very cost wisely.

If the cars a keeper then tyre budget will be but one significwnt cost factor in ownership.

4.8v8  - I only know of BMSports  and D&T Wise in bexleyheath. There is also Mike'sBM in welling.
The 1st two are more established in the Area, but I find their prices to be on the high side.

Mike's BM is a 1 man band ... and I don't think he works all weekdays. I have used been to him in the past(for  current and previous)  to fix issues identified by dealer inspections and found him to be good with honest pricing.

AW8 - seems you know something about the 1st 2 garages, How are they? as I would like someone to look at my gearbox and possibly do a service

I only know the Indy booked here has past been mentioned in BMW mag articles and letter pages & historic reviews have been  okay online. Never used and independents in that areas but one being used here would probably be my choice if local to me and in absence of better recommendation.

Picked up my x5 from the BMsport last night. It had brake fluid changed, 1 new tyre, wheel alignment and new rear brake pads and discs. They charged £605 (parts £257, Labour £247, VAT £101)

Guys seemed decent there and car drove better than when I took it in. They have a few race cars in the back so gives you confidence they know that they doing. But tyre pressure warning light came on on way home and stayed on during the evening (drove to Surrey and back). I guess there is a simple way to reset this?

Arrived in Finland this morning. 1173 miles of excellent driving over 2 days. Hopefully the return journey goes as well!

Now time to forget about the x5 and concentrate on your wedding speech!

Welcome.

Keep an eye on the dipstick as there are rumours that 600 miles per litre of oil is not unheard of for these cars; and BMW will tell you that's acceptable.
[/quote]

Never seen that sort of consumption of Oil in my 4.8is in 7 years... more like 1ltr per every 3-4k miles.
