Awesome spec congrats. Having come from a 5 series i would be interested to hear your feedback on the ride quality of the 20" RFTs on a long journey.

Hi bubbabear
I loved my 5 series but have to say the X5 is far better. The ride quality on the 20" RFT i think is fine, I can understand why people feel they are too firm and coupled with the M sport suspension the ride is firm but far smoother than the 5 series. I test drove RRS and ML before buying the X5 and the handling and ergonomics of the interior was what sold it for me. I like the fact the X5 drives like a car rather than the boat like handling on a RRS. The X5 has bags of room compared to the ML and being 6'6" i need room. I had the X5 to Stirling couple weeks ago and sat in the fast lane at 85 - 90 all the way back to Aberdeen and felt very assured on the road and very comfortable again more so than i did in the 5 series.
Do i think the RFT make the ride harder - Yes - would i change them on that basis alone - No, although price of replacement may make me rethink it when the time arrives.
Ive only had it a few weeks and have been offshore for 2 weeks of that but so far i love my X5.

Nice motor...what line of offshore work are you in? I commute weekly from Edinburgh to Aberdeen as I'm a slave to the black gold too, sometimes the wife even lets me bring the X5! Oh, and I know what you mean re. the room in the X5...I've got 2" on you and I feel unbelievably cramped in the RRS, both the old one and the new one.

I work on a Construction/Pipelay vessel.
Yeah you find both the RRS tight on space but agree the X5 has more? I was very surprised how much more spacious the X5 felt.
